A day filled with sales plans
Yesterday I lost many hours of productivity to a stomach bug that is still nawing at me. Today is filled with developing sales process and plans for three companies. All are unique but one thing permeates all of these projects. A need for scalable yet lithe procedures.
OK, so there is a good chance you just thought, what the hell does that mean.
- A good slaes process is scalable. This means that as you add more people it contains automation in tasks and documention on how things are done. It means that the third person you hire gets the hang of things twice as fast as the second one did. It means by the tenth hire, you can get them up to speed in your sleep. It means that nothing is dependent on the size of the operation, i.e. your time is minor in the process of getting sales people to be effective.
- A good sales process is as light as a feather. This is really simple. EVERYTHING IN THE PROCESS SHOULD BE DESIGNED TO HELP SALES PEOPLE SELL. If you have too much non selling acitvity on your process throw it away and start over. Sales people shoud be selling over 80% of the time and studies show just the opposite.
